Harty’s take on Northern Ireland!

What a Paddy’s weekend we had this year! We ventured up to Northern Ireland for a food festival, a charity event with Neven Maguire and a catch up with friends. It was our Savoury Gluten free biscuits first trip up North and its safe to say they went down a ‘wee treat’.

We were delighted to be a part of a fundraiser night on the Thursday, for the Presbyterian church in Ballybofey with Neven Maguire, where we also had the pleasure of catching up with the Irish Food Guide, Zach Gallagher and the No Salt Chef, Brian Mc Dermott. We love events like these where communities gather together from near & afar with the same purpose, they are always a great opportunity to meet new people in the Irish food & drink scene.

Then to mark St.Patrick’s Day in true foodie style we pitched in a helping hand at the Legenderry festival at Guildhall in Derry, with Thomas at Lisnamulligan farm. We created a winning combo for the weekend in it, pairing our Apple & Sage jelly with with his Free Range Pork. Thomas and his farm will also be featured on ‘On the farm’ on RTE in the coming months, so definitely one to watch. The quality of the meat is at another level, with all pork bred on his own family farm so we were honoured to have our jelly finish off these delicious dishes.
