2017 Highlights for Harty’s March-April

As the days get darker earlier and earlier, and the year draws to a close, we here at Harty’s are reflecting on just how busy and exciting 2017 has been.

March – April Highlights:

During the St Patrick’s Day celebrations, Harty’s enjoyed a weekend in Northern Ireland participating in a food festival, a charity event with Neven Maguire and a catch up with friends. It was a delightful experience to be a part of a charitable fund-raising night. There were many big names to be seen there like the Irish Food Guide, Zach Gallagher and the No Salt Chef, Brian Mc Dermott. Marking St. Patrick’s Day in true Irish style, there was a legendary festival at Guildhall in Derry.

April brought Harty’s to Mallow Racing Home for the annual Easter Festival. The town was a hive of activity between Mallow Castle, the Racecourse and Mallow Town Centre – all hosting various events and entertainment. Mallow Castle hosted a fun family day which began at noon and included a pet show in the grounds. We set up our stall bright and early and finished with a bang in the evening. Events like this are always a treat and a fabulous opportunity to meet other creative food producers and, of course, our happy customers who have supported us from day one.

We also attended the famous West Waterford Food Festival in Dungarvan on the 23rd of April. Since 2008 the festival has been a showcase for food from the region, as well as hosting some of the top chefs, fresh flavors and interesting influences.  This is one festival where there is something for everyone – a full children’s programme, foraging trails, bus tours, cooking demos, dining experiences from high end to very casual – plus, of course, the markets. We felt so privileged to be among over 100 fantastic food stalls for the event and we loved bringing you the best of local and Irish artisan food.
