Last weekend we attended the Taste of Cavan for the first time, and we must admit we were blown away by what a spectacular event it really was! As the crowds kept coming from far and near over the weekend we are confident there were more than 38,500 in attendance. The energy, atmosphere and positivity felt by customers, exhibitors and organisers over the weekend made it a fantastic show. Held in the Cavan Equestrian Centre just outside of Cavan town was the ideal location for such a massive event, with so much going on in each corner it really had something to offer for everyone.
The foodies were treated to an extensive list of A-list Celebrity chef demo’s over the two days, the chance to sample innovative and new products from all over Ireland and a rare opportunity to discover the stories behind each business. There was an abundance of fun for all the family, with a funfair for the kids, a medieval history area and even a craft brewery section for the adults to unwind.
The icing on the cake for ourselves though has to be the recognition we got for our newest flavour the Apple and Sage with Chilli Jelly which received a Highly Commended Award in the best product of the show category. We are absolutely delighted with this and would like to extend our gratitude to the judges, organisers and customers of Taste of Cavan over the weekend.
After a fantastic show, we are making plans for next year already! Cavan, you haven’t seen the last of Harty’s!
