November – December Highlights:
With the start of the festive season upon us, we attended the Cork Kerry Food Market, formerly known as Cork Kerry Food Forum,on November 4th in Cork City hall. The event was supported by Bullseye Marketing, Bord Bia and Supervalu, and highlighted the importance of supporting local businesses, and the value that can be gained on a personal and regional level by doing so, for both customers and produces alike.
With over 60 food and drink producers from Cork and Kerry showing to the public and with cooking demos by The Happy Pear and celebrity Chef Kevin Dundon, it was a certainly an interesting and engaging way to start the build up to Christmas.
Saturday 25th brought us to Manor West Shopping Centre to kick off the Christmas season, with the first of two Food and Craft Fairs held in the centre.
Sunday 26th and there was no rest for the wicked, as we went straight to Killarney Outlet Centre for their Christmas Craft &Food Festival. It was such a busy day in Killarney with a lovely Christmassy atmosphere – mulled wine, lots of cheese and, of course, a dollop of Harty’s jelly!
Bringing us into December, we started with a very special event, the Recovery Haven Christmas Craft Fair on the 2nd,in Tralee Shopping Centre. What a fantastic way to support this very important resource in the town.
We were back for round two at Manor West Shopping Centre on the 9th and 10th. With a special appearance from Santa Claus himself – we would like to thank Derek & Cora at Manor West Retail Park, the guys at Radio Kerry and, most importantly, our customers for a fantastic few days in Manor. Thank you all for supporting local.
There were lots of Supervalu Customer Nights throughout December in the run-up to Christmas. They’re such a great way to say a huge thanks in person for your support throughout the year. With Garvey’s Tralee celebrating as the winner of the Retail Excellence National Store of the Year 2018, we’re proud to be included in their Food Academy section.
Finishing up for the month and the busy, busy year, we were at Tess Quarter in Tralee on the 22nd. It was great to catch up with our valued customers and also help out those last-minute shoppers dashing around the town.
We can’t say it often enough – thank you all so much for your continued support! Here’s to an exciting 2018, we’re looking forward to seeing where this year will take us!
