Highlights for Harty’s 2017 May – June

May – June Highlights

Early May found us attending the Bank of Ireland Enterprise evening in Tralee Sports & Leisure Centre alongside a variety of business operators showcasing their wares. What a great turnout!  We networked with new and exciting entrepreneurs and caught up with lots of our old friends. Of course, it was a pleasure to have a chat with the friendly Dragon, Mr. Gavin Duffy.

 

Next up, we attended The Kingdom County Fair, held at Ballybeggan Racecourse, Tralee. This was the first event Harty’s ever attended outside of local markets in 2010 where we were delighted to receive rosettes for our jellies and scones. This year we had continued success and support, and were thrilled to find we were the Winner of the Best Indoor Stand on the day.

 

Following on from this we were delighted to be invited by Kilcornan School to attend a Neven Maguire demonstration in The Dunraven Arms in the beautiful village of Adare, in Limerick. The location was perfect as it was a most beautiful summers evening for such an occasion. Kerry was well supported at this event with O’Donnells Granola from Killorglin, Harty’s Jellies from Tralee and Dingle Distillery all in attendance. As always, a very informative evening with Neven – we always learn something new when watching his work.

 

Bringing us into June, Michelle from Harty’s Foods team attended the Running the Gauntlet event in Cork City. She gained a lot of new and updated information on how to produce foods safely within small businesses. The workshop covered information regarding bacteria, how to control levels to keep customers safe, how to successfully choose and use hygiene cleaning products, how to manage the traceability of one’s supply chain and finally how to manage food allergens. It was a great day out and Michelle definitely learnt a lot.

The Coeliac Society has been helping and contributing to the betterment of public health, ensuring that members of the public suffering from Coeliac disease are aware of the signs and symptoms so that they are able to adjust their diets accordingly. They’ve been holding multiple events to spread awareness of this particular disease, Harty’s attended their event in Kenmare in June. Harty’s Savoury Biscuits are gluten-free and therefore Coeliac friendly. And we always look forward to attending their events and are excited to learn more information.
