Dingle Food Festival celebrated their 10-year anniversary this year, and we were delighted to share in the celebrations! We decked out our stand in Kerry colours and enjoyed our weekend alongside new and old neighbours to make for another unforgettable food festival.
Kicking off with an In-Store tasting in Garvey’s Supervalu Dingle on Friday, followed by a trip to some of the wonderful business workshops on offer, including a talk by Greenhouse, a Cork-based marketing company, which proved very helpful in the recent launch of our new Food Academy products.
Saturday morning was worryingly wet however by the time we finished setting up the stand & filled our bellies for the day ahead, the skies had cleared just in time for the early shoppers. The crowds came in numbers as they do each year for Dingle, and we seized the opportunity to try out our two new products on all our customers. The Blas na hEireann awards kicked off at lunchtime, with our category Savoury Sauces & Dips not up until late evening we had a nervous but hopeful wait ahead of us. So when the clock struck five there was no holding us back from taking our seats in the Cinema for the awards ceremony. It was great to see many new artisan products that we had been admiring at the food festival take home awards this year. We were delighted and very appreciative for our Mint Jelly to win Silver at #Blas16 it really was the cherry on top of a great day! Congratulations to all the Blas finalists and winners this year.
Celebrations were on hold as work called in the morning, and we were not willing to lose the opportunity to show off our shiny new award which sat proudly on the stand that Sunday. Even though we didn’t have the opportunity ourselves to partake, the taste trail looked to be well worthwhile with amazing little bites on offer from the various food stands, pubs, restaurants and of course the Food Academy producers outside Garvey’s Supervalu. Another sadly missed event by ourselves was the Cookery demos by some of our favourite well-known chefs such as Neven Maguire and Brian Mc Dermott. However, we did manage to get a picture with both guys at our stand on Saturday!
Massive thanks to all the Dingle Food festival & Blas na hEireann organisers, volunteers, and sponsors, and of course to all the customers and exhibitors who came out to make this a memorable 10 year anniversary for Dingle!
