Staying Local in September 2019

After a busy Summer of food markets and festivals, we are glad to say it’s not over yet! We were kept busy attending our local events around Munster this September.

It all started off with a jelly packed weekend last week where we continued our success of being in two places at once. Braving the bad weather for our debut at the Taste of West Cork which took place in Skibereen, and continuing tradition with our trip to the Flavour of Killorglin.

Local markets and food festivals are always a great opportunity to meet other food producers and our customers that have supported us from the beginning. And what could be more local than our hometown of Tralee. The Tralee food festival in its first year running went down a wonderful success and we were delighted to be a part of it. We had a stand in the Artisan food market which took place on Saturday in the square, along with a cooking demo by Chef Noel Keane where he cooked up a beautiful Mussels dish finished off with our Ginger Hot Pepper jelly.

We also partook in the in-store #GoodFoodKarma event which Garvey’s Supervalu Tralee ran as part of the food festival which showcased some of our local producers around Munster along with their own great in-store product tastings.

Now after our busy start to September we are preparing ourselves for our week ahead at the National Ploughing Championships, fingers crossed we won’t be needing our wellies!
