Our summer season of events here at Harty’s has been going really well! We really enjoyed the lovely Leaving Cert heatwave and are looking forward to the next round of sunny weather. In the meantime, let’s have a look at what we’ve been up to…
On April 22nd, Harty’s was at the West Waterford Festival of Food in Dungarvan. We were amongst over a 100 fantastic food stalls, and we loved being able to catch up with everyone at the festival who bring you the best of local and Irish artisan food in such a beautiful town. what a fantastic event every year.
May 13th was the Kerry Expo at the INEC, Killarney. There were over 120 exhibitors, over 10,000 visitors, and lots of amazing activities for all the family. It was a really enjoyable day out and we were delighted to have Chef Mike Foley using our range of savoury condiments at the food demo, showing the versatility of our jellies with some really fantastic recipes.
We really do love partnering with chefs and seeing how creative they are in using Harty’s savoury jellies. On May 30th Chef Mark Doe of Justcooking.ie was using our Apple and Sage with Chilli jelly in his Weber Grill BBQ class at his cookery school – just in time for the BBQ season, here’s hoping we get at least a few more sunny days this summer.
Over the June bank holiday weekend, Harty’s was up in Donegal, at the Rory Gallaher Music Festival. We enjoyed great music, great food and meeting people from all over Ireland and Europe at Dicey Reilly’s pub where Thomas Hughes, of Lisnamulligan farm, was serving up his own beef and pork burgers with a dollop of our Apple and Sage with Chilli jelly – straight for the farm to the fork.
Last weekend at Feile na mBlath Park Festival in Tralee, June 15th to 17th, we had some VIP visitors – HRH Prince Charles and Camilla paid a royal visit to Tralee on their tour of the South West of Ireland. TasteKerry’s Chair John Harty showcased local products, including some of our range of jellies, for the royal visit of Prince Charles and Camilla…we wonder which was their favourite?
You can catch us next on June 23rd at the Manor West Food and Craft Fair in Tralee. Always a busy event with a buzzing, family friendly atmosphere – lots to see and do…and eat of course. If you can’t make it to the fair, keep an ear out on Radio Kerry for coverage of the event and interviews with exhibitors and visitors. Looking forward to seeing you all there!
And to finish up, we were back in SuperValus around the province, doing some in-store tastings and meeting lots of our valued customers. We would like to say a huge thank you to O’Mahoney’s in Mallow, Ryan’s in Grange and Glanmire, Quish’s in Ballincollig, and Caulfield’s in Bandon for having us in for in-store tastings.
Enjoy the rest of your Summer.
